With a featured image the breadcrumb sits under the title inside the cover
overlay, but its first icon started 6px left of the title's left edge.
The overlay rule carried an extra `padding: 0` that this theme added on top of
the reference. The same node also matches `ul.breadcrumb { padding: 0 }`
(0,1,1 specificity), which outranks the base `.breadcrumb { padding: 0 8px }`
(0,1,0) — so the reference's `margin-left: -6px` nudge was applied with no
inset to compensate, pulling the whole row 6px to the left.
Writing the inset back as `padding: 0 8px` on the overlay rule restores the
reference geometry: -6px + 8px nets +2px from the panel edge. The global
`ul.breadcrumb` reset and the video footer variant are untouched, so archive
and video breadcrumbs keep their current padding.
Tests: new case in the single-cover contract suite pins the 8px inset (and the
global reset); cover suite 12/12, widget suite 829/830 with the pre-existing
frontend-lifecycle failure.

Align homepage and category discovery, modern widgets, admin controls, quotes, and comments with the reference theme. Remove superseded paths and add rendering and behavior coverage. Update stale asset and finance contracts; all 760 Node tests and 139 widget assertions pass.
sidebar.css paints .widget a with --color-ink-2 (specificity 0,1,1), which
out-specifies the .jb-* color group (0,1,0) the badge relies on for its white
ink. The user-card widget carries the .widget class, so the check-in bookmark
rendered dark-gray text on the orange gradient on widget pages. zibll sets no
link color on zib-widget anchors at all.
sidebar.css already restores .but colors for exactly this reason; extend that
restoration to .img-badge so the badge keeps its own --this-color. Rebuild the
homepage bundle and extend the badge contract test.
Remove unscoped .img-badge top/left overrides from post-card.css and its
build aggregates that hijacked the reference-parity rules in main.css
(top:.6em / .hot-posts left:-15px). Also drop dead .widget-hot-posts
legacy blocks with no remaining markup references.
Drop the invented .post-breadcrumbs wrapper and echo the breadcrumb
inside the reference's flex jsb at row; split .single-video .breadcrumb
out of the cover-overlay rule (-6px pull and opacity reset belong to
title-over-cover contexts only) and restore the legacy 15px footer
padding. Pin the structure in the cover contract test and rebuild the
homepage aggregates.
The homepage utility .flex { display: flex !important } out-ranked the
legacy wide-mode rule .site-layout-1 .posts-item:not(.card)
{ display: inline-flex; width: calc(50% - 16px) }, so with the sidebar
collapsed (no widgets) every list item rendered at half width stacked
into one column with an empty right half.
Zibll's .flex utility carries no !important; drop it so the wide-mode
rule wins the cascade, and regenerate the CSS bundles.
Verification: node --test tests/widget-system/*.test.cjs (242/243, the
toast-contract failure is pre-existing); rebuilt bundle contains no
display:flex!important on .flex.
Reference contract: widget cards carry their own 15px padding and
.widget-content is bare. The added 20px padding inset every widget
card from the content max width on the fixed homepage (the only
bundle loading sidebar.css).
- drop the root padding rule and the unreferenced --flush modifier
- drop the now-redundant user-widget padding:0 workaround
- drop the dead --card-padding-lg token
- lock the contract with negative assertions in the display test
